Previous meetingsÂ
2023 Base Pay Negotiations; FWSC invites Labour for a further meeting- Peace
This meeting is expected to conclude negotiations which started in 2022 .
There are so many unclear path as this meeting has not yielded any Results since.
Earlier, COLA was to End December COLA Payment to all Public Sector Workers will end in December What next
In all Previous meetings Government’s offer came with COLA , 18% Plus COLA
National Daily minimum wage is also providing 15% COLA over the minimum wage
Which is to take effect 1st January 2023.
2023 Budget – Ken Ofori-Atta
Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)
In determining the 2023 NDMW, the NTC took into account the current economic challenges, cost of living, sustainability of businesses and desirability of attaining higher level of employment, as well as the need for rapid restoration of macroeconomic stability.
The Committee concluded that A Cost-of-Living Allowance (COLA) of 15% over the 2023 National Daily Minimum Wage and the effective date for the implementation of the 2023 NDMW shall be 1st January 2023.
To our understanding COLA ends when there has been a conclusion on the following years Base Pay, either to be increase, or not.
This meeting’s conclusion should be the determinant of payment of COLA or not. Increment or no increment
2023 Proposed dates for Validation, Salary Payment to Public sector workers and COLA
What would happen if meeting ends inconclusive?
Organized labour would take a decision
And it wouldn’t be in the interest of Government or Labour Unions to further delay the process.
Organized Labour would take a decision when Base pay negotiations delays Thomas Musa
